The inflow of residents from outside the Region who are employed by firms in the Study Area (in-commuting), or the outflow of residents in the Region employed by firms outside of it. The flow of Employee Compensation less Social Insurance taxes associated with commuters can be viewed in the Social Accounting Matrix as entries in household receipts from exports (net out-commuting), or as labor income payments to imports (net in-commuting).

Commuting rates can be found in Region Details>Study Area Data>Area Demographics. The Regional Employee Wage & Salary Income by Place of Residence table will show In-commuting dollars and percentages, while the Resident Wage & Salary Income by Place of Work table will show Out-commuting dollars and percentages.
