Multi-Regional analysis makes it possible to track how an impact on any of the 536 IMPLAN sectors in a Study Area region affect the production of all 536 sectors and household spending in any other region in the US (county to county, county to multi-county, county to state, state to state, etc). Now you can demonstrate how an impact in your Study Area disperses into other regions and see how these effects in surrounding areas create additional local effects.
To enable this function:
File > User Preferences > Analysis > Advanced Modeling and select .
Step 1: Create Models
Before working with the Multi-Regional Analysis screens, be aware of the following restrictions and limitations:
- All models incorporated in the study must be created with the Trade Model method for the Social Accounting type.
- You will need to work with an unaggregated model.
- Remember, Model names and Scenario names incorporating special characters can create errors in the Multi-Regional calculations
- While imported models may have Activities and Scenarios, only the Activities of the current model can be considered for Multi-Regional impacts (e.g. if models A and E are imported into model D, only the impacts included in the scenario in model D will be examined as they affect all regions in the linked Study Area. To view the linkages of model E’s Activities on all three areas, you will need to import D and A into that model).
Your Study Area region model and comparison region model will both need to be built before an MRIO Analysis can be performed in the Scenario page.
