The Batch Modeling Process allows for multiple Models to be built at the same time. Models built with Batch Modeling will be used in the same fashion as standard Model builds. This is not intended to run multi-scenario situations. Before IMPLAN can begin to build Models, the Batch Model Template must be properly filled out.
The Batch Model Template is stored in the pathway below:
IMPLAN Pro, Version 3.1 (Appliance Free)
IMPLAN Version 3 (Appliance)
Select the Batch Template
We recommend using the Save As function and giving each Batch Model Template a name specific to the included batch.
County/State Models
The Batch Template excel spreadsheet template includes 4 tabs:
Model Names
This is where each Model is assigned a Model ID, a Model Name, and a Data Year. There are 3 key items to ensure when filling out this first tab in the template.
- The Model Name field is designated with a name for your Model; however it should not include periods or brackets.
- The Model ID field must be numeric but does not have to be sequential nor start with 1.
- The Data Year field can only have one Data Year for each Model build.
Included Areas
There are several key elements that must be properly designated for this tab.
- The Model ID must correspond to Model ID in the Model Names tab (This correspondence can be compared with the picture of the Model Names in the slider above). If Model IDs do not match, the wrong data files may be pulled.
- As shown for Model IDs 1 and 2 (below), all state files included in a Model need to have 000 listed in the County FIPS field.
- It is vital that the correct codes be entered for both state and county FIPS. Example: Model IDs 3 & 4. Wrong codes will result in errors or incorrect data files being pulled into your Model.
- For Models including more than one data file, each data file must list the proper Model ID. Example Model IDs 5 & 6.
- Models may contain data from multiple states or regions (Model ID 6), but it is important to ensure all FIPS codes are correctly allocated.
County Codes
The County Codes tab is provided for your convenience. It provides an up-to-date FIPS listings for use with the previous tabs in the spreadsheet.
Country Code
*****Please disregard the Country Code tab as this does not apply to the County Batch Model.
