There is no summed report of the MRIO effects. Instead, MRIO results are reported as they affect each individual region. Separating the results means Employment, Value Added, and Output values are measured as they occur geographically. This allows you to view exactly how each region is affected by the impacts.
Below is a comparison to show how MRIOs can increase Indirect and Induced values for a study for the current model region.
The increase in Induced and Indirect effects in the Washington County 2007 model, however, are limited to just the Study Area in the current model. It does not include any Induced and Indirect impacts that occur in the imported regions. The indirect and induced effects in the linked region are found in the RAM 2007 model.
Linking RAM 2007 creates an additional 25.6 jobs in Washington County and increases GRP by $3,026,333. To see the effects in Ramsey County created by this change, we need to select the Ramsey County model.
Regions Included
Switch Study Area Regions: To view Induced and Indirect impacts created by the Direct effects applied to the initial model, we will use the Models Included window on the left side of the results.
The upper listing will be the current model, and these are the results that will display when you first view the Scenario. To view the effects of the study on linked models, click on a model name in this window. When a linked model is highlighted, the results screen will change to reflect the effects generated in the selected area.
There will never be Direct Effects displayed in the linked models. Only Indirect and Induced effects will be created in the linked models because the Direct Effects are occurring only in the open model's Study Area.
As seen in the image above, 4,278.8 new jobs are created and $479,913,727 of GRP is generated in Ramsey County as additional effects of Windows being purchased in Washington County.
Top Ten, Detail Results, and Tax Results can also be viewed as regionally specific information by clicking on the appropriate tabs.
To return to current model results, click on the current model's name in the Models Included field.
Summing the Results
Results can easily be summed by copying/ pasting or exporting to Excel. Prior to copying and pasting, it may be helpful to use the column headers to sort the views or use the zero suppress option to remove industries with zeros.
When reports are exported to Excel, they can be summed and sorted there.
Model Overview - Linked Models
When models are linked for Multi-Regional modeling to the current model, they are listed in the Model Overview as Linked Models. This field is activated when the first model is linked.
The Model Overview screen can only display information for the current model listed in the Areas in the Model. MRIO linked models are listed in the bottom left-hand column of the Model Overview window. While you can view the model names of the attached models, clicking on linked models will not change the Model Overview view.
