General Governments

Institutional units that, in addition to fulfilling their political responsibilities and their role of economic regulation, produce services (and possibly goods) for individual or collective consumption mainly on a non-market basis and redistribute income and wealth. In the IMPLAN Canada Provincial product, General Governments is comprised of Federal General Government, Provincial and Territorial Governments, Local General Governments, Indigenous General Governments, as well as two social security funds: the Canada Pension Plan and the Quebec Pension Plan.
