The Explore menu is activated when Advanced Modeling is selected in User Preferences. Selecting Study Area Data opens a View By: Industry Detail report of the Study Area.
The summed value for all Sectors (rows) is displayed as it pertains to each Category (columns) at the top of the screen.
VIEW BY:
Study Area information is accessed with the View By: Industry Detail menu.
The check mark denotes which view is currently selected. To select a different view, click on it.

TITLE BAR:
The Title bar displayed across the top of each Study Area View By contains buttons that can change the viewing attributes of the table. (The bar shown is for Industry Detail)
Most column titles act as sorting buttons. Initially most views are sorted by Sector code in ascending value (first row is 0 last row is 536). To change the way all fields in the table are arranged, click on the title of the desired column. All data in the table will be sorted in descending order (highest values listed at the top of the table) relative to the column title. To change how the data is sorted, click on another field. To re-sort to the original view, select: Industry Code (as shown above).
When the view has been sorted by a column other than Industry Code, the selected column title will appear with an arrow to its right indicating that the table has been sorted by this column header, as shown in the abbreviated example below.
MODEL YEAR:
For reference purposes, the model year is listed at the top of each Study Area Explorer window. This is displayed to the right of the View By: drop down menu.
OPTIONS MENU:
The options menu allows you to Zero Suppress Data and Aggregate.
Zero Suppress hides Sectors that contain only 0 values for all fields. This condenses reports to display only relevant Sectors to the Study Area. When values are zero suppressed, the table cannot be aggregated.
Three Aggregation options are available. The check mark denotes the currently selected Aggregation option.
When No is selected, Sectors in the report are disaggregated. This field is relative to the report view; if users have aggregated the model, the model aggregated Sectors will be shown as No.
Default Scheme aggregates to an 8 sector scheme. You can see an example of this scheme in our Detail Results article under Options: Aggregate.
User Scheme is activated when an aggregation scheme is selected in the Aggregation Builder. Do not aggregate the model when you select a scheme if you want to use this function. Simply select or create the scheme and Close the window.
Once an aggregation option is chosen, it is reversible. The user will be able to select a new aggregation option if the user determines the one selected is not an appropriate fit for the analysis.
COPY:
Any part of the Study Area Explorer table can be copied and pasted into another program by selecting the information and clicking on the Copy button. Information is selected by clicking blank space on the to the left of the Industry Code. Select multiple items by holding the Ctrl key. To highlight the entire table, click in the upper left hand corner of the table, as indicated by the mouse pointer in the image below.
The selected information is placed on your computer's clipboard.

The export function allows data to be exported directly to an Excel File or Comma Separated Value File formats.
To Excel File saves the selected table to an excel database. The default directory for storing these files is:
The Save As window allows you to change the directory and the name of the file. If State Excel on Export is selected in User Preferences, Excel will open automatically displaying the newly imported data.
