I had a couple question regarding the IMPLAN code used for Warehousing and Storage. IMPLAN code for this activity is 400 but I am wondering if this is applicable for industrial warehousing. The business activity we are looking at is essentially storing cleaning products. Because the employment numbers associated with 400 seem to be very high, I am wondering if this is the right code to use.

  • The existing 400 would be an average for all types of firms in that sector. If you have employment related data you will have to edit the industry to reflect your output. Also, the output of the sector would be the value of the service provided (not the value of the inventory stored). If you wish to edit the sector see: http://www.implan.com/kb/question.php?qstId=81
