Unable to create model
I downloaded and installed the trial version of the software but I have since registered it with a license. However, the application still shows as **DEMO** across the top and it will not allow me to create models.
If I go to Help>>About IMPLAN Professional, it shows the product is registered to me with a serial number.
I uninstalled and reinstalled, and STILL is shows up the exact same way: **DEMO**.
It hasn't been a problem until now because I've only just been viewing models. Now I need to experiment with making a model. What do I need to do to get my copy of IMPLAN working correctly?

I assume this refers to version 2.0. Make sure that the demo is uninstalled before installing the software with the CD key (we don't want two installations, the implan shortcut may refer to the demo instead of the real software. If it still comes up demo, delete file (which one depends on your OS): c:\winnt\system32\impp20.lic or c:\windows\system32\impp20.lic You will need to uninstall and reinstall the software after deleting the lic file. -

Ah! I completely uninstalled everything and then reinstalled again. Same problem. Deleting the impp20.lic is what did the trick. Which I don't understand. Why doesn't this file just get overwritten once you register the software? The software half-works. It lets me open and use existing models, but it just doesn't allow me to create new models. Weird. Thanks for the info. -

"Why doesn't this file just get overwritten once you register the software?" I suspect you have an IT person who told you that you have "Admin privileges". What he is really telling you is that you have "Install privileges". One of the limitations is that, while a program can create a new file in the windows system directory, a program cannot modify or overwrite an existing system file, so the install can't modify the "demo" to a working cd key. -
