Application of Ind Ctgrs to Company Study
Background
I am currently working on estimating the economic impact (direct and indirect effects) of a particular company's capital expenditure spend. The company's capex largely falls into IMPLAN Industry codes 403, 409, and 410 ("Spectator sports companies", "Amusement parks, arcades, and gambling industries," and "Other amusement and recreation industries")
Issue
The IMPLAN industries categories are very broad and I want to make sure I accurately apply the company's capex spend into the right IMPLAN industry categories
Questions
1. Is there functionality to "drill down" further beyond the top-level broad industry codes of 403, 409 and 410? My capex data shows more specific categories of spend (e.g. pavement, grandstands, buildings). Thus, I'd like to be able to apply more specific multipliers to my spend categories (if such multipliers exist)
2. Do more detailed descriptions exist for industry codes 403, 409, and 410 beyond their labels ("Spectator sports companies", "Amusement parks, arcades, and gambling industries," and "Other amusement and recreation industries"). I'd like to apply the correct multipliers to my capex spend.
3. Example: If the company in question is Disneyland and builds a $10 Million corporate building, would it be more defensible to apply the IMPLAN multiplier for 409 - Amusement Parks, or to use something like IMPLAN multiplier for 36 - Construction of other new nonresidential structures? I.e., does the multiplier for amusement parks take into account all the different types of spend that an amusement park company makes (like building corporate buildings, constructing large steel structures)?
Thanks!

Capital spending using involves construction (sectors 34-38) and capital goods purchased (sector depends on manufacturer of goods purchased. Once construction is completed then we can "operate" sectors 403, 409 and 410 as impacts. 1) You can purchase the goods as a direct effct (each item is an event. 2) The 440 sectors are the most detail available in the data base. 3) It would apply to sector 36. 409 is only operations expenditures - production functions do not include capital expenditures.
