IMPLAN County Totals Vs. ES202

Both 2009 data sets list very different employment totals. Example: Mohave County 2009 IMPLAN County Totals dataset: 332/481 (IMPLAN/NAICS) = 6 employees Mohave County IMPLAN ES202 dataset: NAICS 481 = 0 employees is there a reason why the employment for the same year is so different? thanks.

  ES202 does not cover proprietors (or Railroad, religious orgs, military, elected officials, some ag.). The BEA (REA data - was REIS) shows proprietor income for Mohave, AZ of 743 thousand for NAICS 481. Based on the state average earnings per proprietor that is 7 proprietors - which adjusted to state and National control totals for the sector - became 6 jobs.
