Adding Drymill Ethanol Production as new Sector?

IMPLAN's sectoring scheme comes straight from the BEA's Benchmark I-O tables, which are released roughly every 5 years. The 2007 Benchmark is expected to be released late 2012, at which point IMPLAN will change it's sectoring scheme accordingly. Even if there is not a specific BEA sector for ethanol production, an industry spending pattern for ethanol production could be used with IMPLAN (similar to our existing industry spending patterns, household spending patterns, investment spending patterns, etc.) and indeed would be quite useful. If you have detailed expenditure data, we would be happy to build a spending pattern for you for use in IMPLAN.
