There was an issue witih our 2009 tax data for data purchased prior to January 2010 - so you may want to redownload your 2009 data order if you made your purchase some time ago. You can do this from within the software by going to Help > Download data order. Please let us know if this does not resolve the issue.

The data were purchased in May 2011. When I say 2009, I was referring to the base year. The base year for the version that came out about a year ago was 2009. The 2009 tax data were not yet available as of January 2010. Did you mean to say January 2011? In any event, I'll try to re-download and see the issue still exists.

I did mean 2011, I apologize. Please let us know if that doesn't do it.

I just re-downloaded the 2009 data (state totals package) as you suggested. I then built the model for Rhode Island. The new 2009 IxC SAM table for RI (attached) is the same as the previous version. So the re-download did not address the issue. Take a look at the state/local government personal income taxes. In 2008, the S&L govt collected over $1 billion in personal income taxes, but in 2009, the SAM table shows zero for this. As far as I know, RI still imposes personal income taxes at the state level. I created the detailed row sam and it shows 1.229 billion HH payments to SL income tax. Either 1) you did not create a new model with the downloaded data or 2) the download has the wrong state data file. I will e-mail the current 2009 RI state file. Let me know if it is the latter. Thanks

Thanks for sending over the 2009 RI state file. I rebuilt the model. Now I see HH payments to SL personal income tax. But the total is $886,940,710, not $1.229 billion (I'm looking at the total in the detailed SAM table that corresponds to Type Code 12001 and Type of Treansfer 15027). Am I still not using the latest version? By the way, except for the new 2009 RI state file you sent over yesterday, all my other 2009 state files are all dated Dec. 2, 2010 at 4:18pm. Should I re-download everything again, even though I just repeated the "download data order" step yesterday?

As far as the 1.229 billion, I got that from the IxC SAM with row detail and adding it up by hand. The structural matrix will not affect the value. Don't bother to redownload until the state package download gets updated. I'll let you know.

Any sense when the state package update will be completed? Would the update affect the multipliers?

Should not affect the multipliers (unless you have internalized state government in the SAM). Just the tax impact report.

Just learned something. When you get the message that all downloadable data has been updated, it doesn't include the State Totals Package as one of the downloadable data sets. Very misleading. Anyway, I am sending it to you via e-mail. Sorry.
