Indirect Business Taxes Other

Am I right in assuming that, IBT “Other Taxes" are excise taxes and license fees and in those states where a gross receipt tax is levied the GRT will also be included in this category. Also I use version 3, How do I copy and paste the IxC Aggregated Sam into the IMPLAN tax report template? Thank you for your help

 • Hello Shameem, Yes, IBT includes excise taxes, however State and local collection, if any of excise tax would most likey be captured under State and Local Severance. The category of other taxes includes license fees as well as business licenses, documentary and stamp taxes. Please see our Tax Impact Report for more information on tax breakdowns and information on how the form is generated. We think you might be referring to V2, where the tax impact report did not break out direct, indirect, and induced, so there was a template for doing this. This is no longer necessary with V3, as it automatically splits out the tax impacts for you with the drop down View-By menu. Please let us know if this is not your aim; and if not, any more details you can provide about what you are trying to accomplish. Let us know if you have any questions. e

 • Thank you for your response. I have looked at the Tax Impact report. The report does not identify where and how the gross receipts tax is captured for those states that impaose this tax. Pleas advice.

 • Hello Shameem, The Census of Government Finances does not have a separate category for gross receipts taxes, so the responding government unit has to fit it in the best available category. Of the categories in IBT, it probably fits best under sales tax since it is based on gross receipts value. However, this unfortunately does not mean that the state government employee filling out the Census form did not consider it a corporate income tax or some other category. In the Census "State Government Tax Survey", Gross receipts taxes are combined with sales taxes.
