Job displacement

Hi Allison, Unfortunately jobs displaced from the opening of competitive industry are not automatically counted or considered by the software, but we highly recommend setting up potential net analysis Scenarios in IMPLAN that show both the positive job growth of the new industry and the cannibalized jobs from industries that it may compete with. Typically the analyst doesn't know exactly how many jobs and associated production may be cannibalizing so we usually recommend running a series of potential negative impacts to the known industries the new industry would compete with to show the potential spectrum of impacts.
