IMPLAN 3.1 Update with Copy to Hard Drive Option
Having found suddenly that it was an option to get rid of the box affixed to my computer and have files downloaded to my hard drive, I was quite ready to avail myself of this option. Alas, after trying all day one of two things happened:
1. When the option to select files to be copied appeared, when the software was searching for what files were available it could find nothing two hours later.
2. If it did find the files to be downloaded and I made a selection, the download stopped always at the exact same point in a year I had not selected--2009.
Any thoughts for successfully accomplishing this task since I REALLY love this idea.

IMPLAN SupportHi Valerie, It sounds like there may be a permissions problem, or that you may not be giving it enough time to copy. Depending on the number of models and/or data files you have the transfer can take several hours, and there is unfortunately no progress bar, the system simply says 'not responding' until the process is complete. If you have a large about of 2009 data it could just be that it is taking longer than expected to move over. If you moved 2007 and 2008 data over as well, you may also be running into an issue of free hard drive space as these databases are very large. Unfortunately our offices are in transition now and our phone services is down until Tuesday August 6th. But we can certainly get you up and running then if one of the above ideas doesn't help solve the problem. Or if you have any additional information you would like us to consider, please let us know.0 -
Thank you for your reply but now I have a REALLY serious problem and I want nothing more than to reinstall v3.0 in the hopes it will remedy it. I installed v3.1 and attempted to copy the files (as stated above). That was only partially successful no matter what I did so I abandoned that idea. Tonight all I wanted to do was create a new model from data I already purchased and, with the device plugged in as the system still prompts me to do, the data has vanished. The file folders appear to be on the IMPLAN Device but I do not think the data is still there. If they got transferred to my computer, where on earth are they? If I cannot find them, how do I reinstall v3.0 so that I can find my data? Thank you for your help. This has reached the emergency stage.0

I found my files on my hard drive, as I said, but now the system still prompts me to attach the device and restart IMPLAN. Is there a way around this?0

IMPLAN SupportHi Valerie, Did you reinstall the 3.0? Or did you keep the 3.1? It sounds like maybe a virus scanner or permissions kept the files from generating completely. We would recommend calling in to our tech support line: 651.439.4421 x 2 for assistance. The problem may be as simple as noting some information so that you don't lose a registration, and deleting a file, or it may take some more work to resolve. Sorry that you are having so many issues with the transfer.0 -
Thank you. I will call tomorrow.0
