Help Setting Up Visitor Spending Impact Analysis
I'm trying to set up an Impact Anlysis of Visitor spending on 6 coastal counties - 3 in North Carolina and 3 in South Carolina. However, there are variation in expenditures from County to County and across Sates. Also the expenditure data was obtianed via survey at different times 2003, 2005, 2009, 2010, & 2011. My question is how do I customize this data to match IMPLAN expenditure categories. Second, can I do the impact analysis simultaneously?
Thanks,
George

IMPLAN SupportHi George, We will probably need a little more information to be of more help, but we'll try to get you started here. Once you have your model built (please let us know if you need assistance with this process). You can use the Help>Sector Search to assist you in linking up the appropriate IMPLAN Sector to your expenditures. Once the window is open you can type in the keyword from the line-item on your survey and IMPLAN will bring up Sectors that include that word. You can also sort these by clicking on the Industry Code header to sort by Industry Code, which can help to choose the appropriate Sector by sorting like items. As regards setting up the data from surveys from different years, you will want to set Event Year PRIOR to entering the Industry Sales to match the year of the survey data. This tells the software that dollar values entered into Industry Sales are dollar values that belong that year's dollars. You certainly can run all these Events in the same Scenario with a single Dollar Year for View. If you need additional help, and information that you can provide that would allow us to be more specific in our response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!0
