Hello. I am a student at Alvernia University. I am working on an economic analysis project for one of my classes. I would like to analyze the economic impact that a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHCs) has on a community. FQHCs are government funded community health centers serving at risk/underinsured populations. Using the U.S. Census Bureau website, I found a NAICS number for community health centers (621498). Is this the correct NAICS number I would use for IMPLAN?

  • Hi Tania, IMPLAN actually isn't NAICS based in the sense that you can enter a NAICS code directly into an Event. Instead our spending patterns are based on BEA's, so we have 440 Sectors which represent 3-5 digit NAICS rollups depending on the type of production. Because there is a correspondence, but not a direct correspondence between the NAICS and Sectoring scheme, you can use the Help>Sector Search feature built into the IMPLAN model to find Sectors based on an entered NAICS code. In this case, you NAICS code corresponds to IMPLAN Sector 396. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
