Airport Multiplier Question

Hi, I'm looking up the airport multipliers for a county and I see an employment multiplier of 1.46, an output multiplier of 1.21, but an employee compensation multiplier of 0.0. Can you please explain why there is no multiplier for this and how I can explain it for my report?

Hi Kathleen, Thank you for your post. I agree, that is curious that the Employee Compensation Multiplier is 0. We do have some thoughts regarding this however to confirm out thoughts, could you please advise us as to the year and data file (region) you are using to build this model. Thanks!

I am looking at Vilas County, WI in 2012.

Or should I be looking at the labor income multiplier?

Hi Kathleen, We apologize about our delay in responding this week. This is a very small Sector in the region, and both from the standpoint of Multipliers and from the standpoint of the Study Area Data it appears that you only have airports that are owned by sole proprietorship or by partnerships and thus they are only making payments to Proprietor Income and not to Employee Compensation. This is why you are seeing no Multiplier for Employee Compensation but a positive Multiplier for Labor Income.
