Customizing Trade Flow Information
Hello.
I changed the RPC for a commodity and couldn't explain a resultant change in the multiplier. I'm wondering whether you could help me understand this.
Change: RPC for Commodity 3015 by Sector 16 was changed to 0 from 0.376769 in New Hampshire 2012 data.
I expected Sector 15's Type 1 multiplier (under Sector 16) to drop down to zero, since Commodity 3015 is the only commodity that Sector 15 produces in New Hampshire 2012 (Commodity 3015's Byproduct Coefficient is 100% in Sector 15). But, although substantially decreased, its Type 1 multiplier is still above zero. I cannot figure out how the logging industry (Sector 16) still has an indirect impact on Sector 15 when it does not purchase any of Sector 15's products. I'm attaching the screen shots for your view.

IMPLAN SupportHello David, It sounds like you are trying to remove the production of Commodity 3015 from the economy, which is not the modification that you have made in the screen captures that you have provided. If this is not what you are trying to do, if you could let us know what you are trying to accomplish in making this modification we can try to help you find the way to accomplish this. Hi Daniel, What you have told the software, based on the modifications that you have made, is that you do not want Sector 16 to be able to purchase any local production of Commodity 3015. However, there is still production of 3015 available since you have not modified the production of that Commodity. Thus the remaining Sectors that are impacted by a purchase in Sector 16 are making purchase of Commodity 3015. If you are trying to complete remove the ability of Commodity 3015 to be purchased by any Industry locally you would want to modify the 3015 under the Trade Model tab. Thanks!0
