Economic contribution of college residence halls
Good Afternoon, I am calculating the economic contribution of the residence halls at my college, is the best way to do this to use the expenditure list for the dormitories, or should I use the total revenue generated by the residence halls.
Thanks,

Hello Alexandria, It sounds like you have the goods and services budget for the dormitories you are working with. Since this data will be more specific that using a general college operations Sector doing an Analysis-by-Parts would be the most accurate methodology to use, but it does take additional time and work. Here are two articles that can help you with Analysis-by-Parts. Basics: http://implan.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_content&task=article.edit&id=373 Case Study: http://implan.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_content&task=article.edit&id=730 As regards contribution analysis, unless you are examining the only dormitories that are being operated in the Study Area region you can treat the analysis like an impact analysis. If you are looking at the operations of all dormitories, or the majority of dormitories operations then you may want to consider running a contribution analysis IF you choose the Industry Change methodology.
