Does the software provide a total multiplier for the region of interest, similar to the total at the top of the Detail Multipliers tab, if the economic impact is dispersed within the economy and does not necessarily affect specific industries?

  • Hi. Thank you for your post. A single multiplier like that really does not mean anything. Multipliers are very industry-specific. However, you can create a highly aggregated model (Options > Aggregation) and get a smaller number of multipliers from that. The model should have at least three sectors. You could also compare sectors' multipliers across regions. You will find that multipliers are generally larger the larger the study area is (less leakage to imports), so it is most appropriate to compare states to states and counties to counties. I have also included an article titled "General Information About Multipliers": implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=121 Thanks!
