Deducing Consumer Spending as a Share of GRP

Using IMPLAN, is there a way to deduce what share of GRP is attributable to consumer spending? In other words, I am interested in breaking down the GRP into two categories - 1) spending by consumers (regardless of whether or not those consumers live in the study area) and 2) spending by all other institutions, including government and firms. I have seen the Final Demand section in the Model Overview, but it appears that consumer spending (as defined above) would be spread across at least a few categories like Households, Capital, and Exports, and that only a fraction of some categories like Capital and Exports should be included but I'm not sure how to calculate that fraction.

    Hi Laurel, Thank you for your post. IMPLAN will not be able to tell you the spending of consumers from outside of your study region. IMPLAN will tell you the spending of other institutions, including government and firms in the Final Demand column in the Model Overview screen. To view a more detailed account of how all the components of Value Added are attributed to all of the sectors in the study region, go to: Explore > Study Area Data > Industry Detail . For a detailed look at the Spending of other institutions, including government and firms: Explore > Study Area Data > Institution Demand. Study Area Data is gross demand if she is interested in demand met by local supply that would be the Institutional Demand under Social Accounts.
