Hello, Are you modeling a change in just payroll or a change in both payroll and government operations? If modeling only payroll, an increase in Employment and Employee Compensation, then you can use 533 and enter Employment. If you are interested in also modeling operations, then you need to Import and Institutional Spending Pattern. Please let us know if you have additional questions. IMPLAN Group Staff -
Hi! Thank you for your follow up question. You are correct in that if you use Sector 533, you will not have any Indirect impacts, only Induced. Depending on how you to setup your Model; you have a couple of options. Since, Sector 533 corresponds to State & Local Government non-education; you can choose between the spending pattern for State & Local Government Non-Education or go to the Activity Options> Import> From Another Model. Direct the file structure back to the IMPLAN User Data folder and then select Utilities and the SpendingPatternsNoPayroll_for_Programs_by_SLGovt and choose the most appropriate type of government spending. Thanks! -
Thank you again. However I have a further question. If I use the spending pattern for State and local Government Non-Education what activity level to I set? The county plans to employ 9 people and I need to calculate the impact of employing 9 people. The coefficients sum to 1 in the event window.
