Hello, Sector 526 includes multiple NAICS sectors and has no direct NAICS equivalent. Local government enterprises includes any government operations that are financed primarily by revenues generated from those operations rather than from budget appropriations. A local government could operate “businesses” that fit into any number of NAICS codes. Accordingly, the spending pattern of sector 526 is very general (it reflects a weighted average of all the different types of enterprises local governments tend to operate). If you’re taking this approach, we recommend that you look at more specific industries’ multipliers. Note that a type SAM employment multiplier, for any industry, equals (total employment effect) / (direct employment effect). You might also want to take note of the Total Effects employment multiplier, which is (total employment effect) / $ 1 million direct output demand. Please let us know if you have additional questions. IMPLAN Group Staff
