Interyear comparison
I want to compare the economic impact of a particular expenditure flow in 2006, and then make statements about how the impact of that flow has changed since 2002 (I have employment in the relevant sector for both 2002 and 2006). I have the 2002 and the 2006 IMPLAN data, but do I run the impact against both the 2002 and the 2006 using the most recent structural matrices, or do I need to use the 2002 structural matrices with the 2002 data and the most recent version of IMPLAN?

Running the impact on a model built with 2002 data you will need to use the 2002 structural matrices. You can't use the 2006 matrices with the 2002 data.0

Are you saying that simply using 2002 data with my currently installed (uptodate, 06wstrct file) IMPLAN will then use 2002 structural matrices? Or do I have to have a separate installation of IMPLAN in which I download and run the 02wstrct file? Rick Harper, Ph.D. Director0

The 2002 matrices must be installed if you are able to use 2002 data. IMPLAN will tell you that you do not have the 2002 matrices installed if you try to build a model with 2002 data. If you don't have them installed, you can visit our support page to download the 2002 matrices. You do not need a different install of IMPLAN. The matrices are just an MS Access database that resides in you IMPLAN program folder.0

And so the fact that I am able to construct a model using 2002 data and one using 2006 data (shown in attached jpg) means that I am using the 2002 data and 2002 structural matrices to estimate 2002 impacts and the 2006 data and 2006 structural matrices to estimate 2006 impacts.
