induced impact errors
I am putting together our annual impact of agriculture report using 2008 implan data and V3 software. I have been doing this report annually for several years, but this is my first time using V3 for the report.
I have setup my scenarios and analyzed them and I am getting some huge induced impact results that are not correct.
For 2007,
direct jobs: 161,140.30
indirect jobs: 54,553.40
induced jobs: 52,923.40
total jobs: 268,617.10
For 2008,
direct jobs: 157,648.0
indirect jobs: 48,382.5
induced jobs: 912,180.0
total jobs: 1,118,212.0
I have set this up and re-ran several times with identical results. I am using econometric RPCs and household multipliers (type SAM) to construct the model. Since I am examining the "contributions" of an existing industry, I edit the RPCs of all sectors under consideration (agriculture) to zero before running scenarios.
Is there any way I could send you my model and you could look for errors? I can't seem to figure out the source of the error.
Thanks for your help on this. Nathan Kemper

I no longer have IMPLAN version 2.0 on my machine. I also do not have my key code to fully install the demo on my machine. I was thinking of just doing my analysis in 2 to get it done quickly...can you help me on this? My name is Nathan Kemper and I've been using IMPLAN for about 5 years now. My account might be associated with our group members, Jennie Popp and Wayne Miller, all from the University of Arkansas. Thanks for your help. The only reason I suggest this is that I am under a tight deadline and if I could use version 2 to get the job done it would be helpful. Nathan0

Have you updated your software? There was an old bug that created huge induced in certain situations. You can import the activities into a new model from the old one after you have updated. Otherwise, zip up the model (impdb file) and send it to info@implan.com.0

Version 2 is still a downloadable "demo". Use the CD key 054d21T00084 to install. Also download the structural matrices for version 2.0

I did update the software, but just today and after the model was created. I will try this solution first. Thanks for your quick response! Nathan0

The update took care of it. I constructed a new model and results look good. Thanks for your help. NPK0
