Union County NC Data
Industry code 74, tobacco manufacturing, comes up as the number 1 industry sector for the county in terms of output ($843 million in output for 2008). I can't find any information on where this comes from because I don't know any tobacco manufacturing firms in this county. Can you help me find out where this number comes from?

The BLS Covered Employment and Wages data is our ground truth. The County Business Patterns data is the source of data we use to non-disclose the BLS data. The two data sources are not always consistent and this leads to problems when non-disclosing and forcing the counties to sum to the states. CEW data has 1 firm existing in NAICs 312229 to which the program assigned too much employment. Looking at the data I think this sector should have only a few jobs (1-4). This same error had a pattern, in this case, which I can now program to avoid. In NC, the counties of Lenoir, Pitt, Union and Wilson all share the same problem of overestimation for industry 74. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
