why same dataset produces different numbers

Hi, Doug, If I use 1997 data on version 2 IMPLAN, the RPC for manufacturing sector is roughly 88%. However, if I pull the dataset into version 3, the RPC for manufacturing changes to 79%. Why? Can you tell me what method you have been using to smooth the RPC number for the years prior to 1997. Thank you! Mike

    Both V2 and V3 use the same econometric equations to calculate trade flows. Since you are apparently aggregating the model, I would assume there is a difference between the two in weighting the parameters of the RPC equation. The parameters of the RPC equation are the same prior to 1997, only the variables of the region data would be different year to year. We have not "smoothed" the data.
