On your IMPLAN Appliance, in Implan User Data > Models, open any of your models with MS Access. The table "CommonDeflators" has the deflators by sector and year. Then you can use the IMPLAN-NAICs bridge (which can be found at the link below) to convert to NAICs. http://implan.com/v4/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=110&Itemid=7

Thanks for your comment. I had already checked out both files, the problem is that with the 3-digit NAICS you have different IMPLAN sectors for a 3-digit code. It would be easy if the IMPLAN sectors all had the same deflators for each 3-digit NAICS code but they actually have different ones. In the Set Up activities window they show the deflators but I would have to go throug each one of those 86 3-digit sectors to find out which deflator to use but that is time consuming and I want to avoid this if there is already a table with the different allocations.

Actually, you don't even need the bridge table. Once your model is aggregated, the "CommonDeflators" table in your model's Access database will have already aggregated the deflators for you. These are weighted averages based on the output.

Thanks again. I understand that the information is already there. What happens is that I have already automated the opening of the reports from EXCEL, using the MSACCESS capabilities, so I can download all the information at once, using a VBA program. I already can do that, and when you do it, the reports come from the "IMT" tables but with the dollar numbers for 2009. Therefore, when I want the reports in a different year I use the deflators and then multiply them accordingly (output deflators, deflators by type of institution, and so for) so I get all the information without exporting each table from the Scenario Results window. I have a project where the interested party wants to work with 3-digit NAICS, so I want to the same thing as I did with the 440 sectors in IMPLAN.

Jenny and I aren't sure exactly what you want, but it sounds like you want all the IMPLAN sectors that correspond to a 3-digit NAICs to have the same deflater. I am not sure why you would want that, but the easiest way to accomplish that is to Aggregate a US Model using the 3-digit NAICs template, then split the aggregated deflaters back to a 440 sector table that you can use in your automation procedure. The aggregation scheme can be seen in the aggregation builder so that you can split the deflaters back out. The aggregation template can also be found in the model database if you want to use that as a bridge to split the deflaters out with a query.

Thanks. I checked the Aggregation Template but it just had the information for a 2-digit NAICS. I do not want to work with only one deflator; I thought you were not working with a weighted average. I was just wondering if you were using only one sector deflator. I understand now that you are actually taking the average of several sectors. Thank you for your time and patience.
