Question about Industry Intermediate Demand
After running a model to estimate horticultural/nursery sector (6) impact, I reviewed the Industry Intermediate Demand for Commodities and discovered that the largest demand was from the Snack Food Manufacturing sector (see attached). Why or how would the snack food sector be such a large component of intermediate demand?

Nationally, sector 65 spends 2.8 cents per dollar's worth of output on sector 6. Looking up a description of each of the NAICS codes included in sector 6 reveals that this sector includes a lot of agricultural crops grown under cover, as well as spices and herbs (click here to see a sampling).
