Sector 376 Employment (R&D)

Hi - we often use IMPLAN sector 376 which corresponds to NAICS 5417, Scientific R&D. As we understand it, the IMPLAN model uses employment data from BEA to round out the core employment data from BLS, QCEW which we know does not include self employment. Can you provide a link to the BEA or other datas source(s) beyond QCEW used to construct IMPLAN model employment? If not, can you tell us which office/dept at BEA provides this data so we can better understand and interpret the large differences between what we see from the QCEW data and what we see in the model? Thanks!
