After you have constructed a model, click Help/Sector Search you can use this to move from NAICS to IMPLAN and also see what is included in the IMPLAN sectors.

I did that and it doesn't tell me what is included in the IMPLAN industry definition, only what is not. For example, I am trying to determine whether fiber-optic cables fall under "broadcast & wireless communications equipment manufacturers" or "other communication equipment manufacturers." Is there anywhere I can read what specific communications equipment is included under "broadcast & wireless communication equipment".

The only other place is the NAICS code database at the census web site. Here is the link: http://www.census.gov/eos/www/naics/

Sorry I am not explaining myself. I am very familiar with the NAICS industry codes and descriptions. What I am looking for is IMPLAN description of the industries, as defined by IMPLAN. Jenny Thorvalsen has posted the following link for the construction sector: types of structures in each IMPLAN construction sector: implan.com/v4/index.php?option=com_docma...gid=115&Itemid=7 . Where on IMPLAN's website do I find a list like like for other industries? Helene

I see. IMPlAN sector codes map directly (except Ag and Construction) to NAICS codes. What Jenny posted is for construction which does not map to the NAICS codes. We rely on that census database for the detailed descriptions like you are seeking for all other industries. You would search for fiber optic cable and see what NAICS code it is what major industry it falls under. I attached a spreadsheet with that bridge. Hopefully you will be able to find what you are looking for there.
