Proprietor income by sector

Hello, Is IMPLAN's proprietor income data sector-specific at its source, or does IMPLAN work with an overall proprietor income figure and then make assumptions about the prevalence of self-employment/unincorporated businesses in each sector? Anything you can tell me about the derivation of IMPLAN proprietor income figures would be helpful. Thanks, Britt

    Hello Britt, It is sector-specific, although only at the BEA REA's 106-sector scheme. We split these into IMPLAN sectors with the help of CEW data, which are Naics-code based, and thus have more sector detail. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
