Importing Spending Pattersn to New Model
I am using version 3.1 and I built a model 15 months ago with 2010 state level data. I just purchased 2012 state level data and I want to use the same coefficients I customized for the earlier model. This was done in set-up activities and events where I modified the coefficients by sector (the data type is industry spending pattern).
Can I import these same coefficients into a new model built with the 2012 data set I just purchased or must I manually enter this data? Thank you.

IMPLAN SupportHi Bruce, You should be able to export your 2010 Activity through the Activity Options>Export to Excel function to an Excel spreadsheet and then import the Activity into your 2012 Model via the Activity Options> Import from Excel. Alternatively since the Sectoring schemes are the same between the two models you could move the Activity directly between the two Models by using the Activity Options> Import> From Another Model. Direct the window to the 2010 mode and select the Activity you want to import into the 2012 Model. The advantage to the Excel method is you have the Activity saved in another format in case anything ever happens to your original model, and if the Sectoring schemes change you can still use the spending pattern after adjusting the Sectoring in the Excel spreadsheet. Please let us know if you have any issues with this or if you need any additional assistance. IMPLAN Support Team0
