MRIO Analysis
I have two Implan Files I am working with. The first is for a county (Broome County in New York), and the second is for the state (New York).
When I run the two impacts individually, New York’s employment levels are lower, while the wages are higher. From other posts, I believe this is because of worker efficiency and salary differences at the state and county level.
I tried to run an MRIO to get a more reliable impact analysis. In both impact files, all of the activities are identical, and the event years used are the same as well.
When I run the multi-region analysis, I use the county level file and add the state level model before clicking analyze multi-region. On the scenario results screen, the direct, indirect, and induced values for the county are all identical to what I found when I ran the single region scenario, however all of the values for the state level scenario are zero.
What am I doing wrong and how can I get the corrected impact?

IMPLAN SupportHi Joe. We have read your post and it appears that your problem may that your MRIO model is not linked properly. Your post reads like you are linking Broome County to the overall State model, of which, Broome County is included. If this is correct, then what you need is the New York State Packages, which includes all counties in your state and the state as a whole. With this dataset, to do an MRIO analysis between Broome County and the State, you would link Broome to the Rest of the State (less Broome County). For example, if there are 50 counties in New York State, then to do an MRIO analysis, you would link Broome County to the remaining 49 counties (ROS). Otherwise, you are double-counting if Broome County is still among the 50 counties in the state. To create a ROS region, you will need to build a Study Region that includes the remaining 49 counties and name the Region. Now, you will link Broome County to the newly created Region and then run your analysis. We hope this helps.0
