Tax Impact Changes from IMPLAN 2010 to 2012

Hi: Trying to understand what may be driving significant changes to Tax Impact results. Scenario "2010": IMPLAN Model Year 2010 Event Year 2012 Dollar Year for View 2012 Aggregated to 2-digit NAICS Industry Change: Manufacturing (31-33), Employment = 239,316 Scenario "2012": IMPLAN Model Year 2012 Event Year 2014 Dollar Year for View 2014 Aggregated to 2-digit NAICS Industry Change: Manufacturing (31-33), Employment = 240,631 Tax Impact Results are significantly different. Please see attached. Looking to understand what is driving the tax impact results to change so much. Were there major updates to IMPLAN data from 2010 to 2012? Would like to know so any results from the "2012" scenario may be defended appropriately.

 • Hi Michael, Thank you for your post. From the 2012 data release notes: The BEA provides data on TOPI by GSP sector (81 of them), by state. In the 2012 Data Season, we improved our process of incorporating the state-level BEA TOPI data. As such, there may be some large changes in TOPI for some states in some sectors compared to previous years. Please let us know if this does not answer your question. Thanks!
