Changing Employee Compensation
I was supplied excellent employee wage and benefit information. With this information I changed employee compensation in the model. I locked the intermediates. I rebuilt with the SAM model all steps (then multipliers), but then realized since I build the model through the multipliers all I need to do is rebuild multipliers, is that right? Second anything else I can do to fine tune this compensation number in the model. It is rare to have this much detail. I did not change model employment, production or proprietor income. I ask since I did end up with correct labor income minus proprietor income but my Employment count was a little off. Thank you.

IMPLAN SupportHi Scott. First, choosing the Multiplier option to reconstruct your model rebuilds the entire model, including Multipliers so the Multiplier Reports are generated. Once this is done your model is ready to perform analyses. So you should be fine here. Since you have very granular data on employee compensation and benefits in your region, I can’t think of anything else to do in terms of fine tuning these values other than entering them in the model. Given that you only had information on employee compensation, we agree not to change model employment, production or proprietor income values unless you had local information to the contrary. Essentially, you are allowing the model proxy what those particular values should be. Given these adjustments, we would expect there to be minor differences in the labor income minus proprietor income and employment in your study region. We hope this helps.0
