Question about the Indirect and Induced output
Hello,
I have a question regarding two scenarios that I am running.
In both models, I am using the same sector codes and inputting the same values for Industry Sales, Employment, and Employee Compensation.
The problem that I am having or more so the question that I have is that I am running one of these using a county dataset within State A. The other, I am running the model using State A as the dataset.
When I output the results, I would assume that the Indirect and Induced levels for jobs would be higher in the model where I am using the State as the dataset as opposed to the one where I am using the County dataset, which is a subset of the State. Is there an explanation for this?
Another question I have is that I am running the same model on two different computers making sure that all of the user preferences are the same including all of the multipliers, the year, etc, but when I run IMPLAN and review the results, I am getting the same exact values for the direct level, but slightly different figures for the Indirect and Induced. I thought this problem could arise due to the different multipliers being "checked" or "unchecked" but that is definitely not the case because we have the same multipliers checked. Is there an answer for this as well?
Thank you very much.

IMPLAN SupportHi Will. In reading your Forum Post, it looks like what you want to do is a Multi-Regional Input-Output Analysis (MRIO) between your county and the rest of the state, excluding your target county. We have included a link to an article(s) that describes how to do a MRIO analysis. http://implan.com/v4/index.php?option=com_multicategories&view=categories&cid=236:multiregionalanalysis&Itemid=71 https://implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=549:549&catid=235:KB18 This type of analysis allows you to show how an impact in your Study Area disperses into other regions, and see how these effects create additional indirect and induced effects in the rest of the state. If MRIO is infeasible because you will need the IMPLAN State Data Package of all counties in your state, we recommend at least editing the state Event to reflect the output per worker, EC per worker, etc. relationships so that they match those in the county and then run your analysis. The results should be more consistent with what you described in terms of the magnitude between the county and state. We hope this helps.0
