Make Table Issue of Fishery in 12 US National SAM
Dear IMPLAN Moderator,
I have a question about the values of the commercial fishing sector (code 17) in the 2012 US national data. Since IMPLAN provides separated make tables for domestic industry (1x2 table), industry foreign export (1x7 table) and industry domestic export (1x8 table), respectively among the 26 CGE files, I note that a small amount ("138.1982422") of commodity (code 3017) is produced from domestic industry make table while a big amount of "4961.1904296875" is produced from industry foreign export make table, which suggests that only 138 million of fish is produced domestically, but 4961 million is exported. We would like to double check with IMPLAN if these number is correct. If so, why the export amount is much larger than the domestic make amount?
Your clarification will be very important to us and we sincerely appreciate your quick response. Thank you very much.
Regards,
ZC

Thank you so much for the reply. This is a project for Dr. Adam Rose at USC, and Dr. Rose would like us to follow up with you in terms of the source of data. We would sincerely appreciate it if you could share the details of data source or some independence data source so that we could verify this. Regards, ZC -
