Definitions of Implan Data outputs
Hello,
I have been searching around the Knowledgebase for detailed definitions for the data outputs provided by IMPLAN. I'd like to see equations for things like Local Commodity Demand versus Local Domestic Commodity Demand, for example. I'm finding many links on the knowledge base are broken.

Hi Deana- thank you for your post. I apologize for the broken links in our Knowledge Base; we are currently working to relink up those articles. In the meantime, here is an article that discusses IMPLAN's Output Information: http://www.implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=644:644&catid=260:KB39. In terms of Local Commodity Demand- IMPLAN defines that as RPC (Regional Purchase Coefficient). RPC represents the proportion of the all local demands (industrial and institutional) for that commodity that is supplied locally (i.e., by the region to itself). For example, an RPC of 0.8 for the commodity "fish", indicates that 80% of the demand for fish (by fish processors, fish wholesalers, foreign exports, and all other demands for fish in that region) are met by local fish producers. It also indicates that 20% (1 - RPC) of the local fish demand is imported. I also recommend for additional information, the following article: http://implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=242&Itemid=1706. I also wanted to provide you with the following three articles: http://implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=632:632&catid=241:KB23 http://implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=688:special-sector-definitions&catid=187:faq http://implan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=821&Itemid=1555#methods I apologize for the number of articles!
