Retail Sectors

When working on a retail impact, should shops in an outlet mall be considered discount department stores, department stores, apparel accessory stores, etc? Using ICSC averages for sales/sf.

Hi Mike, It sounds like you are trying to associate IMPLAN Sectors to your sales per sq. ft. values. We are not familiar with ICSC numbers specifically. Do they provided you a breakdown by wider retail type? If so then you would want to choose the appropriate retail store description amongst the IMPLAN Sectors. In the 440 Sectoring scheme these range from 320-331 In the 536 Sectoring scheme these range from 396-407 Within each Sector there are a number of descriptions to help you make the best match.
