Household breakdown
Good afternoon,
Is it possible to breakdown upper household sizes further in IMPLAN? From looking around, I think the answer is 'no' since consumption info is based on the CES, which is quite limited with the 150+ grouping. (Income data ect seems to be much better broken down)
I was hoping to get a 100-200, 200-1m, and 1m+ or something similar. Assuming the answer is 'no', have you seen any good sources of consumption info to get an approximate share of the 150+ group that is in different ranges?
Thanks

IMPLAN SupportYou are correct that splitting the income categories further inside the software is not endogenous. However, you are also correct that the impact of spending can obtained from splitting the categories with PCE spending patterns for higher income groups. We unfortunately don't have a lot of other detail but we do have the attached spreadsheet which splits between 100 to 119, 120 to 150 and 150+. We get the data from: http://www.bls.gov/cex/#tables. You might try asking if the BLS has more-detailed data that they will make available to you – it's probably not likely but it never hurts to ask! We'd love to know if you find something with additional detail. --Implan Support Staff0
