Competitive and non-competitive effects
Hello!
I want to look at competitive and non-competitive imports for western Nevada counties. I was wondering if IMPLAN has a report that distinguishes between these two.
Thank you and best regards!

IMPLAN SupportUnfortunately we do not have a report that displays that at this time. However, there is a way to calculate it from the data provided in the Model. To do this you would: Compare total import of the commodity (from the Social Accounts Reports> Commodity Trade sheet, Total Imports column) to regional commodity supply (Social Accounts Reports> Commodity Summary sheet, Total Commodity Supply column). If total imports are > 0 and regional commodity supply is 0, then that commodity is a non-competitive import. If regional commodity supply > 0, then it is a competitive import. A couple of other notes about this information: 1. Total Commodity Supply is supply that gets used in the U.S. and gets shipped abroad 2. Total Imports includes imports from elsewhere in the U.S. and abroad. 3. Competitive vs. non-competitive calculations include foreign imports0
