Adjusting imports and then recalculating xiers
I would like to change the imports for a sector in a region and then recalculate the multipliers. I thought I could change the absorption number but I can't. Is there a way I can do this easily in Implan Pro or do I need to do outside the system in excel.
Thanks

Hi Vivien, A few things to note: 1. Gross Absorption is the total amount of an input that a sector needs, regardless of where that input comes from (locally vs. domestic import vs. foreign import). You will not want to edit these values. 2. Regional Absorption is the amount of an input that a sector needs that is provided locally (from within the study area data). To change these, you have two options: a. If you want to change a commodity's RPC for a specific sector (i.e., only that sector buys that commodity X% locally), go to Customize > Trade Flows > Industry/Institution RPC tab and select the commodity from the drop-down list. Scroll down to the Industry of choice and overwrite the value in the "Regional Purchase Coefficient" column with your desired value. b. If you want to change a commodity's RPC for ALL users of that commodity, you have to do so indirectly via the Local Use Ratio (RSC), as described here: http://support.implan.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=topic&catid=84&id=13559&Itemid=1840#13568 http://support.implan.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=topic&catid=84&id=17488&Itemid=1840#17512 After making any edits, you'll need to reconstruct your multipliers: Options > Construct > Multipliers Thanks! -
Good Morning! I apologize for the broken links. I have fixed the links from the forum post that you referenced as well as included the fixed links below: http://support.implan.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=topic&catid=84&id=13559&Itemid=1840 http://support.implan.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=topic&catid=84&id=17488&Itemid=1840#17512 Hopefully this will help!
