Labor Income to Supported Employment
I ran an Industry Change to calculate impacts in an area and I want to understand the relationship between the Employment numbers and the Labor Income values from IMPLAN. Specifically, in the output I want to know how much of the given Labor Income goes to newly supported jobs in the Employment numbers and how much goes to existing employees. Is there any way to use the IMPLAN application to find this data?

Hello, IMPLAN does not have this data. All analysts need to assume the impact is creating new employment, or supporting current employment, or a mixture of new and supported. Generally speaking, if you know that new Employment is involved in Direct Effect is 'new', which it typically is, it's safest to assume that the Indirect and Induced Effects are supported rather than created. You can typically get a good sense of this by viewing the Detail Results View By: Employment where, unless your impact is very large, you will find most Employment impacts are small numbers or fractions of jobs. Labor Income triggers the Induced impacts. -
