Economic base analysis

I'm reading a paper by the Alward Institute about gross versus base measures of output, employment and value-added. It looks like these can be generated from the SAM within IMPLAN models, but I'm not sure which menu item to select to find the detailed industry column and row values. Can you please advise?

Hello, Thanks for providing the articles so that we could ensure we were using the correct definitions and point you to the right place. The table you need can be exported from the software, but not viewed in the software. You will find it at Explore> Industry Accounts > IxI SAM tab > Export > Industry Detail SAM Files (csv only). You'll want the Industry Detail and Row Detail option. Please let us know if you have additional questions. IMPLAN Group Staff

Thank you so much. I assume the first column is showing row headers of the SAM, and the second column of this file is showing column headers of the SAM, yes?

Hi Christine! When making the SAM, both A&B combine are the column headers. Industry Detail, Row Detail shows: A = Institution Payments B = Payments Description C = Institution Receipts D = Receipts Description E = Type of Transfer F = Transfer Type Description G = Value Industry Detail, Aggregated Rows shows: A = Institution Payments B = Payments Description C = Institution Receipts D = Receipts Description E = Value Thanks!
