Part of my model involves spending by tourists in various sectors. What type of event is the correct one to use for this?

Hello there,
Our article, Tourism Spending, walks through an example of how to set up a project to model tourism spending in IMPLAN.
Hope this helps!

The article you referenced answered my question. Thank you. I have a follow-up question that has probably been asked a lot lately. I'm using IMPLAN to help with a tourism-related analysis (The Impact of Golf) for calendar-year 2021. The 2021 IMPLAN data won't be available until much later this year and my analysis is due in just a few weeks. My events include Industry Output, Industry Spending Pattern and Labor Income. Given what a weird year 2020 was, would I be better off using the 2019 IMPLAN data to model 2021? All the inputs I'm using are from CY2021.

Good afternoon!
That certainly has been a relevant topic following the release of the 2020 annual IMPLAN data set. The general consensus has typically been that the 2019 Data Year would likely provide results more consistent with expectations when modeling events that did not actually occur in calendar year 2020. However, our 2020 Data Release Notes walk through some of the important factors to remember when considering which Data Year is best for your analysis.
Hope this helps!

Hello there,
Are you looking for that in the underlying data or in the context of your project results?
