INTRODUCTION
The IMPLAN Development Team works tirelessly to ensure that user experience in the application is as smooth as possible. In order to make this possible, IMPLAN has in-app notifications and error messaging to keep track of what is happening behind the scenes.
In-app notifications are available for common processes used in IMPLAN, allowing users to keep track of the progress of things such as building a Combined Region. Error messages will be displayed anytime you run into a stumbling block when using IMPLAN. Read below for more information on when you will receive notifications, error messages, and some options for resolving or working around error messages.
IN-APP NOTIFICATIONS
Notifications have been added to the IMPLAN Application for tasks related to setting up or running an IMPLAN analysis. If there is a blue dot next to the notification bell icon in the top right corner of the screen, then that means there is an unread notification. IMPLAN will provide notifications for all of the following processes:
- Analysis Run
- Combined Region Build
- Customized Region Build
- Aggregation Scheme Build
- Spending Pattern Build
- Region Build
- Aggregated Scheme Region Build
- Project Configuration Import/Export
Whenever one of these processes has been started, users can click the notification bell icon to follow the status of their task. These notifications will shift from “In Progress”, to “Complete”.
After viewing the notification, mark single notifications as read by clicking the X icon, or all notifications by clicking Mark All As Read. After doing this, the blue dot on the notification bell will disappear, indicating that you are all caught up and have no new notifications!
ERROR MESSAGES AND HOW TO FIX THEM
Once in a while, the dreaded error bar shows up on the screen with “Oops! Something went wrong”. The first thing we recommend to fix any issues is to clear the cache and then logout and log back into the account. If that doesn’t work, read below for what all of these error messages mean and how to fix them.
WEB BROWSER
IMPLAN recommends using Google Chrome to get the best experience. IMPLAN also works in Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Internet Explorer is no longer supported.
OOPS SOMETHING WENT WRONG
It’s never good when a frowny face shows up on the screen. The error notes “There could be a misconfiguration in the system or a service outage. We track these errors automatically, but if the problem persists feel free to contact us. Please try again.".
