INTRODUCTION
The underlying data about a Selected Region can be accessed from the Regions Details Overview. From the Regions screen, click the View Region Details button or click the name of the region. Note that all the data in Region Details is nominal; it is not adjusted for inflation.
REGIONS DETAILS OVERVIEW
The first page of data users see is the Regions Overview which provides a summary of the data that can be found throughout Region Details. Explore further using the tabs along the top of the page.
The following tiles can be found on the Regions Overview page:
DATA YEAR
The Data Year section displays the Data Year of the Selected Region.
GROSS REGIONAL PRODUCT
The final market value of the goods and services produced by labor and property located within the borders of the Region. Gross Regional Product is the region’s contribution to the United State Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Learn more about how contribution to GDP is measured.
TOTAL PERSONAL INCOME
Total Personal Income is based on the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) definition of Personal Income. BEA Personal Income includes imputed income, adjustments for misreporting and under-reporting, and employment paid benefits. This is not comparable to money income as defined by the Census Bureau. Users can also find Total Labor Income earned by all Employees in the Region and Labor Income by Industry from the Regions Overview page in the Industries table. Learn more about Types of Income in IMPLAN.
TOTAL EMPLOYMENT
Total Employment (annual average full-time/part-time/seasonal jobs) for a Region reflects the total number of Wage and Salary Employees and Proprietors in the Region.

NUMBER OF INDUSTRIES
Number of Industries displays the total number of IMPLAN Industries present in the Region. An Industry is considered present in a Region if there is any activity in that Industry in the Region (Industry Output is greater than zero).
LAND AREA (SQUARE MILES)
Land Area displays the Region’s total land area, net of large bodies of water, in square miles.
POPULATION
The number of residents in the Region.
TOTAL HOUSEHOLDS
The number of households in the Region.
STUDY AREA REGIONS
Study Area Regions displays a list of all of the Regions included in the Selected Region. In the case of Combined Regions, multiple Regions will be listed here to show which Regions were used to construct the Combined Region.
VALUE ADDED
Value Added consists of Employee Compensation (EC), Proprietor Income (PI), Other Property Income (OPI), and Taxes on Production and Imports net of subsidy (TOPI).
Value Added in the Regions Overview page displays the total value for each component of Value Added for the Region. Value-Added is all of the income generated at each stage of production. Total Value Added is equal to the Gross Regional Product.
FINAL DEMAND
Final Demand is equal to the sum of the value of goods and services sold to final users. It includes household consumption, government consumption, capital investment, additions to inventory, and exports, less the value of imports and sales by institutions (i.e., deletions from inventory and other institutional sales).
Final Demand in the Regions Overview page displays the total value for each component of Final Demand for the Region. Total Final Demand is equal to the Gross Regional Product.
INDUSTRIES
The Industries table in the Regions Overview page provides a summary of each Industry in the Region, displaying total values of Employment, Labor Income, Output, Average Employee Compensation, and Average Proprietor Income for each Industry.
