IMPACTS

  • For customers with the Large MRIO feature enabled, these projects now include Power Series results (incorporating scope 1 and scope 2 emissions in environmental impact results).

26.3 Release

Official IMPLAN production release notes for Version 26.3 released on June 3rd, 2026.

AI FEATURES

  • In-App AI Feedback: You can now submit feedback on AI-generated responses directly while using the feature, making it easier than ever to tell us what’s working.
  • Export AI Summaries to Word: Your most recent AI-generated summary can now be exported directly into a .docx format.

  • Streamlined Navigation for AI Summaries: To make it easier to find, the AI Summary feature has been moved out from under the general "Summary" tab and is now its own standalone option in Project Results.

IMPACTS AND RESULTS

  • Introducing Large MRIO: For enabled user accounts, IMPLAN will now automatically evaluate your project’s overall final demand to determine whether to run it as a standard MRIO or a Large MRIO. This new capability also allows you to run MRIO projects that encompass all Congressional Districts in the United States. To dive deeper into how this works, visit this page.

  • Faster, Expanded Download Options: We’ve added new export options to Impact Results, allowing larger projects to download Economic Indicators and Tax Results (both Detailed and Summary). We have also optimized download speeds across both IMPLAN Cloud and the Impact API.

CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATIONS GUIDE

  • Expanded Geographies in Construction & Operations Guide: Canada and International data products are now available within the Construction and Operations Guide for users with the appropriate subscriptions. Selecting Canada utilizes the 236 Industry Set, while International utilizes the 51 Industry Set.

  • Edit Capabilities for Canada and International Guided Projects: You can now edit and update values for completed guided projects using Canada or International data. To preserve your original analysis, edited projects will automatically be saved as new projects.

  • AI Summaries for Construction & Operations: AI summaries using detailed reports are now enabled for all Construction and Operations guided projects across US, Canada, and International datasets. These can be accessed via the AI Summary option within Project Results.

GUIDE UPDATES

  • Enhancements to the Annual GHG Emissions Guide: You can now edit Scope 2 expenses within the guide, with purchases of heat, steam, and cooling now fully accounted for alongside electricity. We’ve also added the flexibility to return to a completed project, edit your values, and generate updated projects. The guide reports annual Scope 1 and 2 emissions in metric tons of CO2 equivalents (based on a 100-year global warming potential). The underlying methodology is aligned with the GHG Protocol to support compliance with legal mandates, such as California’s Corporate Climate Data Accountability Act (SB253).

  • Redesigned Guide Results Menu: The navigation for Guide Results has been redesigned to improve usability, allowing you to quickly find and access the specific data most relevant to your workflow.

26.2 Release

Here are the official IMPLAN production release notes for Version 26.2 released on April 15th, 2026.

DATA LIBRARY

  • US Foreign Trade: US Foreign Trade data for 2023–2024 is now available in the Data Library under the Explores and Dashboards tabs, featuring the 528 Industry Set. This update also introduces an interactive map to the US Foreign Trade Dashboard for visualizing trade flows between the US and its global partners.

REGIONS

  • Map of Connecticut: The map of Connecticut has been updated for the 2024 data year in the 528 Industry Set. The new Counties (i.e. Planning Regions) are labeled appropriately and the boundaries have been updated to reflect the new data.

IMPACTS AND RESULTS

  • Improved Impact Sorting: The Impacts page now features enhanced sorting options, allowing you to organize Groups by Title, Region, Dollar Year, Data Year, event count, or the order in which they were added. These new controls provide a more intuitive and meaningful way to manage and analyze your project data.

GUIDES

  • Scope Emissions Guide: The new Scope Emissions Guide allows users to better understand their environmental footprint by incorporating custom operations data on the carbon intensity of direct Scope 1 emissions. Users can also tailor their energy profiles to reflect specific contractual instruments, such as Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), for a more accurate representation of their environmental impact.
  • Editable Guides: You can now update the Construction and Operations, Green Energy, and Forward Linkage Guides, eliminating the need to restart your workflow. This enhancement provides greater flexibility by allowing you to refine your inputs and see changes reflected instantly in your active projects.

26.1 Release

Here are the official IMPLAN production release notes for Version 26.1 released on February 26, 2026.

SITEWIDE

IMPACTS AND RESULTS

  • New AI-Powered Project Reports: Users can now generate customized reports on project results using our new AI tool. This feature provides comprehensive synopses of project outcomes and detailed breakdowns of key economic indicators, including overall impact, tax implications, and direct regional effects. This can be found under to the Results Summary tab as 'AI Summary'.
  • Improved Accuracy for MRIO Projects: We have enhanced how MRIO analyses calculate impacts across mixed region types, such as projects involving both states and counties. Previously, induced impacts from cross-region commuting were underestimated. As a result, you can expect to see increased, more precise induced effects when running MRIO analyses with mixed region types.
  • New Input and Reporting Options for 2021 Canada Data: When using Canada data, you can now input Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employment or Wage and Salary income. IMPLAN will automatically convert these into Wage and Salary employment and Employee Compensation Income for analysis. Both FTE employment and Wage and Salary income are now available metrics in your Results.

PROJECTS

  • New Interactive Map in Project Comparisons: A new map feature has been added to Project Comparisons to help visualize differences in key results across projects Regions. This map also functions as an interactive filter, allowing you to easily parse out and view region-specific results.
